ABOUT ME

quarantine self portrait.jpg

Hi! I’m Lori Epstein, a photographer, photo editor, and photo director. Through the thoughtful creation and careful curation of images, I helped develop and now maintain the visual identity for National Geographic Kids Books. I lead a team of dedicated and talented photo editors and photo researchers that, together with the design team, create the visual identity for the award-winning and commercially successful brand.

I’ve led teams of two to twenty staff and freelancers through tumultuous times, while keeping spirits up, budgets down and the heart of the National Geographic mission as our top priority.

I'm also a dog mom, cyclist, crossword puzzler. And before you ask me about cameras, dogs with jobs, or throwing pottery, check to make sure you've got money in the meter!
